Good craft selection, both draft and bottled. Lots of games. N64 Mario Kart. Air Hockey. Tekken 3. A lot of good card and board games are often there though I can't tell which of those are the bar's and which are just the cool patrons'. Free pizza during games. Bike stand outside, though it is a little out of view of the inside seats. Um that's enough I think, I love this bar.

Really awesome bar in downtown St. Pete! The drink prices are a little higher than average ($6-7), but not too bad. They do have Yuengling drafts for $3. I was informed there is an all you can drink/kill the kegs on Saturday nights for $12. The atmosphere is pretty cool with several games including darts, card games (Apples to Apples, Cards Against Humanity), Connect Four, air hockey, and some arcade games. They have several events here including comedy and trivia as well. It's a great spot to hang out and have a good time. I will definitely be back often.

I came here last night on invitation by my friend, who was going to see another friend (amateur comedian) perform during open mic night. The bar itself is a cute little place with a nice vibe, some cool artwork, and friendly service and patrons. Aside from all this, I'd recommend taking a magic eraser to the sink in the ladies room. There were games and a deck of cards at our table, so we played a few rounds of gin rummy while waiting for the comedians and our beers. Unfortunately, my beer was served rather warm and so was the glass, so I only had the one. Of the 9 or 10 comedians that went on stage last night, I only recall two actually being funny, and the rest ranged from uncomfortably vulgar (I enjoy vulgarity from time to time, as long as it is mixed with hilarity), to oddly ranting, to downright unusual. Interesting evening.

I was a little disappointed with this place after reading some good reviews. It was a week nigjt that we stopped in so maybe that could be it but this place was dead. Drink prices and service seemed ok. I had a friend in town and we asked for a shot. Apparently they dont have liquor only beer and wine I was told. The bartender did hook up a Nintendo 64 for us to play so that was nice. Overall not my type of bar. Atmosphere was missing but this is based on one visit.

This will probably become my new favorite place. I've been there once before, but it was packed with people from an event going on and I didn't really get cool this place really is. I called ahead on a rainy Friday evening and confirmed that the place is "dog friendly." My friend met me there for some brews. We were pleasantly surprised about how good their happy hour is, 1/2 off of tap beers! Great craft beer selection and regular beers are also available. There were board games available for those who wanted to borrow them. Our bartender was friendly and had a good knowledge of what each beer was like. He recommended us some delicious brews that we loved. We learned about trivia nights on Wednesdays, so we'll have to come back and check it out.

Cool, laid back bar. Great place to listen to poetry on Monday nights. Bar selection is good if you are into cider. The beer selection does change every month which is nice, you will never get bored from the selection. They have lots of board games which you can play. If you are looking for a place to chill and enjoy times with your friends I would recommend this bar.

The mellow vibe is a welcome escape from the downtown craziness. They put on great events and the staff is knowledgeable and eager to help.

This is a great laid back bar. They have activities almost each night if the week and the bartenders are really nice. They also have free WiFi. It reminds me more of a cafe that happens to serve craft beer. You can also get packafe beer and to go. Saturday night is kill the keg for $12. Usually a really decent beer, too. A really cool place to hang out.

JUST OKAY - I'D RATHER GO ELSEWHERE There's nothing bad here--but If I wanted to listen to music and get good Beer there's better places to go relatively close by. But I can't take off points for personal preference. SOMEWHAT DIVEY On quieter days this place screams dive bar--easily overlooked, community-known, little treasures inside. The layout is long and narrow. I haven't gone when it's extremely busy but I assume people may need to step over or between people to get places. The bartenders are friendly and approachable but I also noticed when they're not being bossed around they can get bored-looking and hide behind the bar texting. Ah well--as good as they're good when they serve me and keep the place clean. WHERE'S THE ENTERTAINMENT? In utilizing the narrow space I like their 2nd floor, small stage. I just didn't like how Sly's website stated a live musician until 10pm during my visit but there was nobody when I arrived at 9pm. There's a scattering of games like Cards Against Humanity, Mario Kart and Jenga to keep you occupied. Bring quarters to play the air hockey and retro arcade games in the back. GLUTEN-FREE, ALLERGIES PYRA SAYS: Reviews and the website tout lots of ciders. I took the lone one on draft but noticed a handful more in bottle form. Nothing too much to say here because I place more emphasis on atmosphere when I drink.

Went for Yelp's Ugly Christmas Sweater Party. The owners were acting as bartenders. They were so friendly and remembered my order each time! The bar is a lot bigger than you think. It goes deep and they offer a wide variety of games to play while drinking! We enjoyed the oversized Jenga and interesting murals. They also have an area above the bar for a live band. One person was playing and it was fantastic! Also, I noticed flyers for Wednesday Night Trivia. I am looking forward to coming back!

I love hanging out at Sly Bar! Wednesday trivia night is a great time to chill out mid-week and test your knowledge. I really think this place stands out because it's full of surprises: -card games on each table -cards against humanity (best adult humor game ever) -pop corn machine!!! -air hockey!!!!!!!! -pinball! Obviously I love games and if you do too, this is the place to be. The owners really went above and beyond. Oh yeah the drinks are pretty good too! They have some good ciders as well as my recent favorite, Abita Strawberry. They also play a lot of 90s music. I feel like they designed this place with me in mind...

Your new favorite hang out in DTSP just opened up! Fun fact, this place is named after the owner's dog Sly. Get it, Sly...dog... haha... ahh, I crack myself up. Sly Bar, is filling out mid-town on Central with style. The location is just a couple blocks up from the Trop. As an avid Rays fan, this is perfect for me as it is a quick walk. The vibe inside is fun. Guitars on the walls, vintage pinball and Ms. Pacman in the back, and then my favorite--public chalk walls to unleash your inner Picasso (or write dirty things on walls and not get in trouble, whatever floats your boat). Go find my initials to see all the inappropriateness I have slandered the walls with, I'll spare Yelp the juicy details. Lots of really neat wood pieces including cutouts on the walls and palette benches. There are A TON of TVs, so I never miss a game. Really cool lighting too, blue lights line the bar, lamp lights hanging from the ceiling and wine bottles filled with electric candles on the tables. There is a stage about 10 feet up above the bar which is going to be banging with live music. Plenty of room out on the front porch to keep it chill under an umbrella or with some corn hole toss. There is a big selection of beer, wine, and my favorite--hard cider. I do not know what it is, I have had Woodchuck on draft before, but the Woodchuck here has this caramel apple flavor and I love it. I am not a big drinker, and I drank more of the stuff than I am willing to admit. Nice free snacks too like popcorn and chips. If you get starving, Urban and Taco bus are just a block in either direction, food is welcome. For all you heroes, the DDs, coffee is available to keep you peppy. Last, I must praise the staff. The owners Loren and Joe are the nicest, down to Earth guys. If you need something and the bartenders are tied up, they will stop what they are doing and bartend for you. Zach and Katie are also amazing, really nice and genuinely interested in chatting it up with you while relax with a cold one. Lots of fun times are to be had at Sly Bar. Come see for yourself!

A nice average dive bar. Don't except much. They do have a good selection of beer on tap. But the owner doesn't honor the Yelp 50% off drink discount when you check in ... Sooo, wft? Claiming it's not their discount (thus 2 instead of three stars) I live in the neighborhood and am not sure if I will return again. At the end of the day, It's just another dive bar in a row of dive bars. Update: I appreciate one of the owners taking time to respond to my review. I'll stop back in again very soon. Perhaps because of this review all future Yelpers will receive the promo that pops up. I appreciate your kind offer Joe. I don't need a bar tab just a proactive friendly business owner. Kudos!

I love this place because it's low key. It's never too crowded and they have plenty of a selection of beer. It's dog friendly and has a ton of games to play. Bartenders are friendly and facilities are always clean.

Best bar in town. The end.

Nice addition to the Grand Central district. Formerly Steel City (and Rex before that). You'll most likely hear some good music, and if you don't think so they have a TouchTunes. The inside is long and narrow, and if go all the way to the back you'll find pinball, pacman, Galaga, darts, or often times just some privacy (although a few more comfy chairs would be nice). The front is nicely lit (not bright, not too dark) and there are a good amount of TVs. The bricks out front are new and nicely done. Beer selection is REALLY good but everything is usually rotating and they get in some nice beers, including seasonals and rockin' Kill the Kegs on Saturdays. Full cooler of all different bottles if you can't find something on draft. The cider selection is very good with up to 4-5 options and one on tap. Carrying this many ciders is rare for a bar and is a really nice touch. The wine selection is huge (10-12 wines). I'm not a big wine drinker so I have no idea if they are good, average, etc but with that many to choose from i'm sure they ran the gamut. There is a stage above the bar (another nice new touch). Really nice owners who are into the community and its surroundings (not just gross Taco Bus).

Great cider selection. Raspberry cider that tasted like a framboise lambic. Awesome bar with great people and atmosphere. Clean woman's bathroom. I will be coming back. Cards against humanity and giant jenga to keep you occupied while getting your buzz on.
(5)Rachel Z.
I love it. It's a home-town kinda bar. Beer and wine license, so it's kind of a bummer that they don't have a full-liquor bar but they do very well with what they have. Awesome draft selection, a lot of games such as cards against humanity to keep you entertained. Trivia night on Wednesdays, live music if you time it right. That awesome "neighborhood dive bar" kind of feel without the sticky floors.... Drop in sometime and give it a chance!

These guys are doing a bang-up job of booking both talent and events. I actually discovered one of my new favorite local acts here. First painting class here too lol. Beer selection is good, happy hour generous and vibe is great. Clean. Great place to chill.
(5)Philip C.
A new place in an old location. They have a great selection of local beers and a great vibe. They have a raised stage where they have comedians and music. The bartenders were knowledgeable and friendly. I would rather have a drink here than at the other sports bar right next to the Trop. Sly has a great neighborhood feel with all the benefits!
(4)Brittany J.
Nice bar, very chill...prices are great. The owners are awesome!! Check it out and see for yourself :)
